Dr. Alex Soltren, MD
Hello, I’m Dr. Alex, and I am a board-certified pediatrician at Next Generation Pediatrics.
Born in New York City and raised in Westchester County, I had a lot of exposure to medicine growing up through the work of my father, a primary care physician, and my mother, who has a Master’s in Public Health. Though I didn’t realize it at the time, their influence along with experiences such as volunteering at immunization clinics in Spanish Harlem as a teenager and mentoring children with Sickle Cell Disease in Boston as a college student each contributed toward a combined interest in medicine, preventive healthcare, and, most significantly, caring for children.
After earning a bachelor’s degree in Anthropology from Harvard University, I worked doing clinical research, performing rapid HIV testing and counseling in the ER at Jacobi Medical Center in the Bronx. Afterwards, I stayed in the Bronx to attend Albert Einstein College of Medicine, where I received my Medical Degree with distinction in pediatrics, then completed my internship and residency at Cohen Children’s Medical Center at Northshore/Long Island Jewish (now Northwell). Though I had incredible sub-specialty exposure throughout my training, in the end the decision to practice general pediatrics was an easy one—I’m passionate about providing primary care to children and their families.
I currently live in Westchester with my wife and daughter. I also practiced in Westchester County for 7+ years before looking for the opportunity to care for children and families in a different, more intimate way, and found a shared vision in the way medicine should be delivered when I joined Next Generation Pediatrics. I’m excited to be part of the team and look forward to meeting your family soon.
